Hainan Rendez-Vous 2012

The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Hainan Rendez-Vous 2012.

The third annual Hainan Rendez-Vous, China’s leading superyacht and business jet show, will be held on the 5th-8th of April 2012.

The show is becoming a landmark event for China’s affluent and influential decision makers providing them with a platform for top level communication and collaboration.

The show’s fantastic turnout is due in part to the fact that Hainan is becoming a key yachting hub for China.

Foreign registered yachts are now able to stay in Hainan for 183 days, and can go through entry and exit procedures at more ports on the island.

Marinas are mushrooming up along the coast, many with state of the art facilities, and staging global events such as the Volvo Ocean race.

Hainan’s marine infrastructure is also attracting the attention fo the world’s superyacht manufacturers.

Beyond yachting, HRV is also the largest business jet event in Asia with China fast becoming the most dynamic jet market worldwide.

HRV is above all a networking platform where high net worth individuals can discover the most advanced yachts, jets and supercars.

They can also enjoy a true Riviera moment with a wide range of parties, events and exclusive gala dinners thrown by the event sponsors and participants.

Organizers also intend to elevate the Art in Hainan component of HRV to a whole new level at next year’s edition.

With its tranquil, transparent waters and azure skies, Hainan is a great source of inspiration for artists from China and abroad.

So step aside Ibiza, move over Antigua and watch out Phuket – the Hainan Rendez-Vous is heading for center stage.

World’s biggest raw emerald on display

The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents World’s biggest raw emerald on display.

A massive uncut emerald on exhibit in Colombia’s capital is being touted by its owners as the biggest in the world, officials said Saturday.

The 11,000-karat raw green gem weighs in at 2.27 kilos (almost five pounds) and is on show in Bogota 12 years after it was mined in Muzo, in the South American nation’s emerald country in Boyaca province.

“It is priceless,” Santiago Soto, spokesman for the Minergemas 2011 gem industry trade fair under way in Bogota, said of the stone owned by the firm Coexminas.

No more than 15 people at a time are allowed to view the stone, with five guards looking on.

Colombia produces 55 percent of the world’s emeralds, exporting them for about $200 million a year.

Lexus L600h Landaulet For Monaco Royal Wedding

The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Lexus L600h Landaulet For Monaco Royal Wedding.

A hybrid Lexus has been chosen as the official royal wedding car of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock next month, the automaker has revealed.

A customized LS600h Landaulet with a transparent polycarbonate roof has been specially constructed for the occasion to allow guests to get a look at the couple during the event, scheduled for July 2.

It was dismantled to allow for the fitting of the 26kg roof, a special addition to the model, which will eventually go on display at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco.

As the vehicle is a hybrid, Lexus says that much of the tour of Monaco that the couple plan to take after the wedding will be emission-free.

The official wedding car could prove quite a publicity coup for Lexus, which already holds a royal warrant as the official supplier to the Sovereign Prince of Monaco.

Volvo, which was the official supplier of vehicles for the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling of Sweden 12 months ago, provided a fleet of specially-designed S80 and V70 vehicles which were seen in pictures around the world.

The vehicles were then sold afterwards and proved exceptionally popular among dealers and buyers, according to Volvo.

Branson’s Necker Belle Sets BVI Regatta Record

The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Branson’s Necker Belle Sets BVI Regatta Record.

Sir Richard Branson just set a new record in the British Virgin Islands with his 105-ft. carbon fibre catamaran Necker Belle.

While manning the helm Branson had the distinction of captaining the largest multihull to ever participate in a BVI regatta.

While he didn’t actually win the race, he added one more honorific to his considerable list and got some great advertising for the stylish craft, which charters out at $100,000 per week. Originally built in 2003 it was relaunched in 2009.

Capable of over 20 knots while under sail and 18 knots under power, the Necker Belle recently emerged from a two-year refit at Australia’s Azzura Marine.

The yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests in four en suite staterooms and the main cabin’s lounge area, which can be converted to a double cabin, as well as a crew of seven.

The modern, beach-house style interior modeled on Branson’s 74-acre Necker Island retreat in the British Virgin Islands features a wine cellar and there’s an open-air cinema as well.

It also carries a three-person aero submarine for underwater fun.

London’s sightseeing boats get pre-Olympic upgrade

The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents London’s sightseeing boats get pre-Olympic upgrade.

A London tour guide company has revealed plans to build the city’s largest sightseeing boat ahead of the 2012 Olympics.

City Cruises, which runs river sightseeing tours in the British, said May 27 that it would launch its new 600-passenger vessel on the River Thames by Spring 2012, describing it as a “next generation leisure and tourism vessel.”

The design, which will be London’s largest scheduled sightseeing vessel, is being built at a cost of £4 million and will ferry passengers between popular tourist spots such as Parliament, the Tower of London and Maritime Greenwich.

The catamaran holds an enclosed, air-conditioned main deck with 360-degree windows for panoramic views, two bars and an open top deck.

It also features solar panels to continuously recharge the batteries, energy-efficient diesel engines and onboard recycling facilities.

London’s frequent boat services, provided by companies such as City Cruises and the commuter-oriented Thames Clippers, are one of the easiest ways for travelers to reach the east of the city, where many Olympic events will be held.

The city’s river services have been described by London mayor Boris Johnson as a “vital part of the 2012 transport strategy” and are expected to carry some 7.5 million people in 2012, up from just 2 million in 2000.

During the Olympics, organizers estimated that roughly eight percent of spectators could arrive at games events by boat — some 150,000 people.

Meanwhile, a new cable car project across the Thames in East London may not be ready in time for the games, according to reports.

The cable car, which is to run every 30 seconds to transport visitors over the Thames, between the O2 Arena and Excel exhibition center could be delivered after the games, London’s Evening Standard reported earlier this month.
