The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Elizabeth Taylor pearl sells for $11.84 million.
A huge pearl once worn by European royalty and last owned by Elizabeth Taylor sold for a record $11.84 million at a blockbuster auction in New York on Tuesday.
“La Peregrina,” depicted in art works over the centuries and coveted by kings and queens, was bought for Taylor by her actor husband Richard Burton in 1969.
The pear-shaped white pearl was a highlight of Christie’s sale of the legendary jewelry and fashion collections amassed by Taylor, the “Crown Jewels of Hollywood.”
Apart from its remarkable size — 203 grains, the equivalent to 50 carats — and association with the Taylor, the pearl comes with a story matched by few necklaces.
Discovered in the 16th century in the Gulf of Panama, one of the first recorded owners was King Philip II of Spain.
It passed on to the Spanish queens Margaret and Elisabeth, who proudly wore the pearl in 17th century portraits painted by Velazquez.
The treasure went into French hands in the 19th century when Napoleon’s brother, Joseph Bonaparte, briefly ruled Spain.
The actress, who died in March at the age of 79, had seven husbands during her glamorous life, countless admirers and a passion for jewelry.

Dior’s Animated Film “Mise en Dior”
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Dior’s Animated Film “Mise en Dior”.
Following recent machine-inspired videos by Chanel and Dior, the latter has released yet another creative ad, this time for its Mise en Dior necklace.
Christian Dior’s creative director of accessories, Camille Miceli, was the visionary behind the film named after the first necklace she created.
Shot from the perspective of one of its pearls, the pinball-inspired film follows its journey along the steps of the creation of the necklace, with every completed detail being ‘rewarded’ with an iconic Dior piece, such as the Lady Dior bag.
“Life and society have been quite depressed, so I asked myself, ‘How could we have some fun?’ We came up with a pinball machine,” Miceli told WWD.

Rothschild tiara sells for over £1 million in London
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Rothschild tiara sells for over £1 million in London.
A dazzling pearl and diamond tiara once owned by a celebrated member of Britain’s de Rothschild empire on Wednesday sold at a London auction for £1,161,250.
The bejewelled item belonged to Hannah de Rothschild, whom was at one time the richest woman in Britain and whom went on to marry dashing aristocrat and future prime minister the Earl of Rosebery.
Three pieces of jewellery owned by the countess of Rosebery were sold at Wednesday’s “Important Jewel Sale” at Christie’s auction house.
“The Rosebery pearl and diamond tiara, bracelet and brooch were at the heart of Lady Rosebery’s vast array of magnificent jewels, which rivaled those of crowned heads of Europe at the time,” Keith Penton, Head of Jewels at Christie’s, said.
“They are a rare survival of 19th century English aristocratic splendour, as so much ancestral jewellery has been sold anonymously, remounted or broken down”.
The granddaughter of Nathan Mayer Rothschild, founder of NM Rothschild & Sons, became Britain’s richest woman when her father, Mayer Amschel, died in 1874.

An extremely rare translucent pink diamond fetched a price of $10.8 million at a Sotheby’s auction on Tuesday, the third-highest price ever paid for one of the pink stones at auction.
“It is the third-highest price for a pink diamond at auction,” auctioneer David Bennett told journalists after the sale.
The 10.99-carat, emerald-cut stone was classed as a type IIa diamond, with the type II category making up less than two percent of gem diamonds.
The pure colour of the diamond, mounted in a ring, is classified as “Fancy Intense Pink” by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Stones in this category are the most chemically pure and often have a rare transparency. They have been found in India and in more recent times in Brazil and Africa.
Valued earlier at between 8.3 and 14.8 million Swiss francs, the pink diamond had come from a private collection and had not appeared on the market for more than 30 years.
Sotheby’s said it was one of the highlights of its “Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels” auction in Geneva Tuesday.
Another was an emerald and diamond tiara dating from 1900, as well as Kashmir sapphires and Burmese rubies.
The tiara sold for $10 million, not including commission, at the top end of how it had been earlier valued.
“I do not think that the market for coloured diamonds has ever been as strong as it is today,” Bennett said.
A 24.78-carat Fancy Intense Pink diamond was sold for a record $46.16 million at a Sotheby’s auction in Geneva in November.

Naturally Precious
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Naturally Precious.
Nature is an abundant source of inspiration for many jewelry designers, but newcomer Brooke Kanani Sachs takes actual elements from the forest and beach and casts them in 18-karat gold settings with diamond and gemstone accents to create her one-of-a-kind pieces. The jeweler’s seedpod ring, for instance, is an actual seed she treated for durability, set with a baguette diamond center, and framed on a gold band. “The juxtaposition of these objects with the refined qualities of precious metals and stones is a way of paying homage to nature in a way that I truly see fit,” says Sachs, who trained for four years with an old-world craftsman where she learned the traditional lost wax method of casting. She continues to make each piece of jewelry from start to finish from her Hopkinton, R.I., studio.
In addition to natural resources, elements in nature also inspire designs. “I am intrigued by the anthropomorphic quality of trees, the ripples in the sand that are left behind by the waves or wind, bones, shells, rocks, horseshoe crabs, seedpods, birds, animals, and many other things that we tend to take for granted in our demanding lives,” she says. Her pieces start at $400 in sterling silver and range to $10,000 for items in 18-karat gold. (401.714.5172, www.brookekanani.com )

Black Gold – Fine Metal for Fashion
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Black Gold – Fine Metal for Fashion.
Today black gold is revealed its inner features to get trendy and elite. The gold radically changed the color to become the part of trendy collections by reputed jewelers. It is worthacquiring by the wealthiest persons to turn into the trendy metal for daily use. It is independent and luxury, unique and classic, modest and provocative at the same time.
The authentic black gold is not mined as the ordinary gold but produced in scientific laboratories instead on the base of ordinary yellow gold by various technologies. The black color is achieved when cobalt and chrome are oxidized together at high temperature, or when the yellow gold is covered with black rhodium or amorphous carbon. Nevertheless, the technology of acquiring black jewelry is not known to all jewelers in details. And therefore, black gold is still cloaked in mystery and magic.
And this could be the reason why black gold is not the frequent component in designer collections of famous jewelers in spite of the fact that black jewelry was first exhibited at Вasel-2001. However, in 2004 Fawaz Gruosi actively demonstrated the precious metal in his collections creating amazingly gorgeous jewels based on this metal. The other jewelers prefer introducing black gold in their collections step by step, jewel by jewel, being concerned about some negative response from public. However, this unique metal found the way to hearts of the elite for obvious reasons. Whereas brown gold is the base of the current season, designers are anticipating the further «darkening» of the precious metal to black color.
Elegance and delicateness of the black gold is the absolute reasons why it is loved by the elite society. And in view of these features compared with the classic yellow gold, this dainty metal has the sufficient ductility and strength to create incredibly beautiful jewelry from it. As an example, blue, green and violet gold is too fragile and can serve as insets into some other basic metal. Apart from unique color, the black precious metal keeps its high strength at the quite high purity. So, yellow gold .750 is too soft and it easily abrades with usual wear and tear, and therefore it is preferred for solemn functions and events that happen rarely. Unlike the yellow gold, the black gold of the same purity can be used every day causing excitement and adornment from the surrounds with the elegance of the jewelry.
The dark color is exclusive as such as well as the white color, and when the delicate fine work by the reputed jeweler is presented in dark color, it is worth acquiring. Men tend to accentuate on the black gold for their accessories opting for this metal for the match of elegance and manhood, and moreover, black and white is the classic math winning forever. So, in the nearest future we can expect a greater number of black jewelry for men and dark color watch bracelets. This metal is likely to replace the yellow gold and even titanium in Swiss watches.
Most jewelers caught the fancy of the white gold and platinum mostly for the reason that any diamond on the ground of white metals shines with brilliance of purity, even with some yellowish insertions and other defects. Rubies, emeralds, sapphires, topazes play for showy colors on the lighter background. And therefore the match of two shades at least are usually employed when the basic part is made from yellow, pink or red gold, while the white gold served as the background for the play of precious stones.
The black gold is considered as the metal to discolor with precious stones since it darkens the shine of them making it dull and changes the color. Black diamonds seem not to get dull on the black background. However, the jeweler Fawaz Gruosi experimented with colors and found out that emeralds and rubies on the dark background look less glamorous but more ceremonial, while diamonds show every single facet of play. The person non-expert in jewels and purity can easily notice the quality of the stone on the ring or necklace. And thus, it is thanks to black gold that defects and drawbacks are hard to conceal, and advantages can be only revealed, in regards to crystals minerals and humans, on the whole.

Golden Watches – Classic of Today
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Golden Watches – Classic of Today.
Everlasting classic is golden watches as the successful accessory to complement the image of the thriving and elegant person. However, such mechanisms are not designed for time keeping but for the purposes of a jewelry item. Whatever they come for whatever purpose, golden watches is the symbol of luxury and wealth. Yet, the wealth can differ from person to person.
Origin of golden watches
Pocket golden watches appeared when the watch-making art was in the process of development. Due to the pricing, the watches were affordable to wealthiest people and the accessories were made luxury with the help of precious metals and gems. When making new mechanisms, the designers compete in the luxury trimming and style of watches. Golden wrist watch was introduced at the same time with the first wrist watches which were likely be the jewelry than time keepers.
The model of watches by the Swiss Breguet has the title of the first golden wrist watches which was custom in 1810 and made in two years for Napoleon’ s sister, the King of Naples. The watches were depicted as the elongated-shaped watches with easy running equipped with the thermometer and silver guilloche dial plate with Arab digits with the bracelet weaved from the finest golden threads and human hair.
Technologies of today
Much water has flowed under the bridges since then though the Swiss people still lead as ever in he sphere of gold watches manufacture spending 8 to 12 tons of gold per year, and 10 to 13 tons of gold for bracelets. Gold is the unique metal that does not go pale and does not change the color to be ideal for every day wear. Gold of low assay is mainly used with the alloy of copper and silver. Apart from the bracelet and the case, there are watches made from the entire gold. Skeleton watches look especially incredible when done with open mechanism, when the magic of perfect running of the complex mechanism and the special change of gold shades to create the luxury ensemble.
Rolex is the leading company to use gold per single watch. Designers of this brand use around forty grams of gold to make the case unlike the other brands that can afford 8 grams of gold for average women watch. The bracelets are also amazing and it takes Rolex from 20 to 100 grams of gold for them, and again ahead of other companies.
Expensive but stylish
Golden watch is costly to afford and thus this is the purchase to consider and plan. In addition, this is the accessory which complements the image of a solid man. Lately the golden pocket watch with the fanciest complicated mechanisms are in among men and many brands initiated developing their items. The most expensive and technically complicated watch in 2009 was Patek Philippe Calibre 89, sold on November 15, 2009 at the Antiquorum auction for $ 5 million US dollars. The watch was made from almost 900 finest items and the clockwork was put in the case of 18-carat yellow gold weighing 1,1 kg in the whole.

Yet, the wealth can differ from person to person.
Origin of golden watches

Semi-Precious Stones – Glittering Symbols
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Semi-Precious Stones – Glittering Symbols.
Mohs scale of hardness put the start to division of stones for precious and semi-precious and in ancient times various stones ere appreciated for various cases. So, the Egyptians preferred jewelry from emeralds, turquoise, amethysts and rock crystal while the Romans loved diamonds and sapphires. During the Renaissance and baroque epochs wealthy people preferred rubies, sapphires and topazes while the rococo period dictated diamonds to glitter on clothing. So, stones were selected to match the clothing, the mood and personal preferences.
Ensembles of people of the romanticism period were mostly decorated with precious gems giving beauty to the world around and the heart of people. That was the time when stones were attributed the special symbol, when every single semiprecious stone had the particular meaning. Jewelers of that time acted as designers and healers when they helped to select the stones of particular meaning for particular person to match their emotional and physical needs.
The impact of the precious and semi-precious stones on the human organism, the physiology, feelings and emotions are known from old times, though with every year the scientists and researchers looked for more evidences of interaction between stones and humans, stones and planets, connecting macrocosmos and microcosm. And even today, use of semi-precious stones as talismans and healing elements is not absurd and influence of minerals on humans is proved through centuries, yet, the symbolism in jewelry is back again.
This is required especially when many of us can afford precious stones to own, and rare diamonds and emeralds are still mined hardly ever. Unlike them, rare and unique stones can be acquired for the reasonable price due to huge amount of semi-precious gems. Some semi-precious stones appear more expensive than precious stones, though, due to sizes and unique features. It is worth stating that whatever demanded is the market of fake precious gems, semi-precious stones are also imitated. Alexandrite lost its positions among semi-precious gems which was the elite stone in the high society in Russia in old times when the great number of fake stones without unique features and beauty cut use of alexandrite as the jewelry stone for clothing and decoration.
Onyx, nephritis or jade and turquoise are often faked, though the real beauty of natural stones allows finding the difference between the fake gem and semi-precious stone. Lately the number of fake gems decreased since semi-precious stones somewhat outdated, and the jewelers gave their fundamental concentration to precious stones. However, today semi-precious stones are in again in the niche of elite jewelry as additional crystals to highlight the glimpse of real jewels or individual jewelry items. A wide range of colors, matte texture, translucency and other features, semi-precious stones win the market of jewelry gradually allowing creation of unique and exclusive jewelry items with exceptional and rare minerals.
It is known that most semi-precious stones cannot boast with long and prominent history though most of them bear the particular symbolic meaning to serve as talismans to protect particular Zodiac sign persons or persons of particular profession or particular social group members. So, superstitious sailors keep emerald while sailing, artistic people prefer tourmaline or amethyst, and small children are advised that they wear moonstone.
According to superstitions, the moonstone is the mineral that helps kids grow intelligent since the mineral is believed to stimulate mental activity and increase skills to sciences. The garnet is considered the stone for those who are in love, for friends and who believe in friendship and loyalty. The mineral sparkles and glitters in blood-red glares when a person obsession with passion wears it. And every Zodiac sign has particular stones and minerals especially assigned to protect, to highlight individual features and help control negative emotions.

Art of Jewelry in Ancient Russia
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Art of Jewelry in Ancient Russia.
The jewelry art in Russia was impressive for the masters from ancient Europe. Yet, today fashion designers are also captivated with ancient art of jewelry to borrow the ancient techniques and decorations to create their own items. So, the temple rings were transformed into earrings of larger size, and charms today come as pendants, al the items are done using the technique of blackening, filigree and plique-a-jour which are still exploited today.
The art of jewelry in Ancient Russia was fascinating for Europeans since not only western technologies were used by the Russians. The links with merchants from the East had also affected the development of Russian craft work. Unlike the refined geometry figures most likely used in the East, Russian designers mixed various techniques which resulted in items of incredible beauty and performance.
One of the famous tendencies is granulation technique when thousands of fine metal beads are welded to one and the same item creating the magic play of color without using precious metals and stones. Here, the basics of jewelry craft work was used to make with the help of molding when the wax was used for more expensive and limited jewels, and stone mold were used for mass production items.
Due to filigree technique, whether superimposed or laced, the light and dynamic relief ornament was created. Today filigree is most known in the world as one of fine craft works and lately the bracelets done with this technique are too popular. In the 12th century, when items were made for mass production, one of the popular techniques were engraving ad blackening onto silver, while the background was made dark with the lighter picture and image above. The technique was skilful enough to create elegant and refined miniatures.
In spite of the fact that most jewelry was lost during the Mongol overlordship, the archeologists managed to restore some unique jewelry items after. So, pairs of hollow golden and silver pendants fastened to the headwear on chain used by the urban beauties within 11th-13th centuries can create the interest and concern of fashionmongers from today with the fine performance. Especially the golden pendants decorated manually with the river pearls and prints of the fancy birds with women hair made in the technique of the plique-a-jour.
The Grivna of Vladimir Mononmach is known to be lost and discovered by archeologists later. This chased medallion of the 11th century showed the lady’s head on one side rounded by eight snakes with the pray against diseases in Greek language, and the other side showed the archangel Michael who was assigned to protect the jewel owner from devilish intrigues. The finest performance of the medallion is too skilled that the jewel was estimated as the size of Prince contribution from the average city according to scripts of that time.
The term «jeweler» appeared in 13th century in Russia and due to new techniques and active use of precious stones the jewelry art was found in its bloom that period. In the early 19th century the Russian designers elaborated their own style different from the European standards, and almost every single jeweler had their own features and peculiarities.
Every master had his own style, his own unique jewelry items which were appreciated at the court of the Russian Emperor and by the royal families of other countries. Thus, the Easter Faberge eggs, different from egg to egg, were ordered by the Emperor for his family, while cheaper works of the jeweler like cigarette cases were afforded by less wealthier persons. Today Russian designers still launch unique works of art, staying faithful to roots, and, thus, many jewelry items made in Russia are still highly demanded at the world market.

Yellow gold is deemed as the quintessence of refinement and perfect manners, the sign of perfect taste and style. Gold is available in red, pink, green, blue and even black colors, though. Reputed jewelry houses employ all the shades to create their accessories while colored gold is only seizing minds of ordinary consumers. Average consumer still refers to colored gold as to the metal of lower purity and quality.
Colored gold was first employed by jewelers in the end of the XIX century when new metals of precious group were developed as osmium, rhodium and palladium. Production designers put some efforts and experimented with alloys. The color additive has nothing to affect the quality and purity of the gold.
The jewelry industry never uses absolutely pure gold. The .585 fine gold has 58,5% of precious metal while the gold of .750 fine has the 75% metal, respectively. It is interesting that most accessories from color gold come as gold of .750 fine.
The colored additive is called alloy in jewelry sphere. And the shade of gold depends on its composition. The most popular alloys are silver and copper.
White gold
The jewelry items from white gold are ranked as reputable and worthy. It is often exploited to trim diamonds. Palladium and platinum are used to make white gold. Yet, the alloy differs from the natural platinum in color, with the slight tint of yellow. Nickel is less expensive to add to white gold though reputed jewelers quit using it since nickel often causes allergic reaction when contacted with the skin.
Pink and red gold
When copper is added to gold, pink and red shades are obtained for the more copper is there in the alloy, the richer and deeper is the color. From old times red gold is used to cast church domes and some time late it was practiced in making women’s jewelry and accessories. Red and pink gold are known also as the love gold and quite romantic and gentle jewelry is made from them.
Green gold
Silver, zinc and palladium are used in equal proportions to obtain the greenish shade. Green or olive gold is made when gold is alloyed with potassium. These alloys are too fragile and are not, thus, appropriate to cast whole jewelry. Precious stones are trimmed with yellow gold insertions and they are also used to imitate floristic elements in jewelry design.
Blue gold
The composition and technology of blue gold acquiring has been the secret for many years as well as the black gold mystery. Some jewelry houses publish some information at corporate web-sites on the gold obtained with the alloy of indium or rhodium. The blue gold by the Argentinean jeweler Antoniassi who obtained the alloy of .958 fine was found the real fable. The percentage of the pure precious metal is over ninety percent. His colleagues suspect that the designer added some cobalt to gold.
Violet gold
The exotic violet color was attained by the intermetallic compound of .750 fine with aluminum or potassium. This is not the alloy but the sol-called metallide. К unfortunately, the violet gold has the disadvantage to all other color gold since it is incredibly fragile and is used in jewelry as the insetting or imitation of faceted precious stones.
Black gold
Black color seems to be the most unusual for the precious metal. To obtain this shade, the gold is mixed with cobalt and chromium simultaneously oxidizing the new assembly at higher temperature. The surface is painted to black color with the help of the black rhodium or amorphous carbon.
Black gold looks benefitial when combined with other color gold, like alloy with classic yellow, red and white.
Tendencies by reputed brands
The jewelry combination of cold colors, as clack, white and blue come to become the major tendency of the jewelry world this season. Gold jewelry of appropriate color gamut will also in favor.
The jewelry house Chopard is still faithful to its traditions accentuating the white and pink gold. The Frey Wille Company presented the collection of 18 Carat Jewelry based upon rings and pendants styled hippies of the most adventurous shades of color gold.
Boucheron, known for its sympathy to black gold presented the new wonder – the ring from the gold of chocolate tint created by the designer Solange Azaguri-Patridge. It is made as the chocolate with the bite with B letter in the core.
The King of jewelry, Cartier House with the Graf House demonstrated unique jewelry items from white gold based upon yellow gold, though.
Gold is still gold, whatever color it is and it is still the most popular and demanded precious metal among others.

Precious Stones – Gem Magic and Persons
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Precious Stones – Gem Magic and Persons.
Precious stones and semi-precious gems have been always used to decorate jewelry and accessories of luxury life. The times when most jewelry with various gems were used for every day went away, though the more jewelry the person had on themselves, the wealthier they were deemed. Today most designers and admirers of jewelry concentrate their attention to compatibility of stones, the way the minerals affect people, whether positively or negatively.
The study on stones compatibility is known from ancient times. The ancient craftsmen in India used to match gems when making jewelry. The point is that every separate semi-precious stone meant the particular planet of the solar system and, thus, had the same power. When sitting next to one another, the magic power of stones was expressed as high as several times which brought the vital values to the owner like health, success, good luck and peace in family. Moreover, the Indians sacredly honor the study on human chakras, the centers of spiritual and physical power. The seven chakras are known and every one has its particular color, which totally make the entire spectrum. The jewelry made from semi-precious stones, were used separately or with other gems next to every such energy center. So, Indian jewelry is highly demanded today when vivid emeralds, bloody rubies and various shade diamonds are matched.
There are many rules on how to match stones according to the Zodiac signs, the moon calendar, the fēngshuǐ study. Nevertheless, this system is based upon the theory of compatibility of stones and planets, which were affected by studies adopted in Ancient India.
In the early 16th century the German alchemist and adherent to the occult sciences Agrippa von Nettesheim made parallel between the semi-precious stones and Zodiac signs, and, consequently, between the elements and planets. And, thus, the Sun fits with the stones of golden and red shades, as rubies, amber, color diamond and hyacinth. All translucent gems as moonstone, pearl, aquamarine, rock crystal, opal, coral, beryl fit with the Moon, being all white and blue. Mercury
Favors for all lilac and violet gems as topaz, turquoise, agate, chrysolite, amethysts. Venus likes all the green stones as sapphire, malachite, emerald, green pearls, moonstone, amazon-stone. Jupiter shows favor for the blue stones as turquoise, sapphire, lazurite and blue topaz. The stones of blood red color with some brown insertions as ruby, bloodstone, jasper, diamond, garnet and carnelian go with the Mars. Saturn likes black color stones like onyx, sardonyx, agate and morion. Neptune, certainly, favors for green and blue shade gems as aquamarine, moonstone, and rock crystal. Uranus goes will with stones with optic effect of irisation (appearance of the color gamut on the surface in the bright light, like labradorite) or opalescence when the stone emits iridescent beams as the flame opal. Pluto likes motley jasper and dark translucent topaz.
According to this theory stones of various planets-antagonists cannot be matched in jewelry.
Sun dislikes Mars, Saturn, Pluto as well as Mercury hates Moon;
Moon does not go well with Mars and Pluto;
Mercury dislikes Mars, Pluto and Moon;
Venus hates Saturn at the side;
Mars has nothing to do with Mercury and Uranus;
Jupiter does not fit Mars, Saturn and Pluto;
Saturn is not friend to any planet, but Moon and Mercury;
Uranus fits with Mercury, Venus and Neptune;
Neptune is compatible with the Sun, Moon, Venus and Jupiter;
Pluto goes well with Venus and Mars.
When selecting stones for jewelry, the jewelers consider the color compatibility and compliance with classes as precious, semi-precious or gems.
Translucent gems are well matched with some insertion of half-translucent gems as diamonds and fianite.
White stones go perfectly with all stones, while black color gems overdo all rich colors as crimson, brown and violet with bluish shade.
When making tutti-frutti jewelry or items based on various colors, the jewelers consider the vivid colors and the color background when the rich and juicy gems go well by one another, withut any pastel shade stone.
So, the jewelers apply the traditional approaches of stone compatibility when pearl look perfect with diamonds, and ruby necklace with some diamonds and sapphires is the ideal gift to the beloved woman. Most reputed brands as Asprey, Tiffany and Chopard offer jewelry so fascinating and eye-catching that you can never forget the brilliance and glimpse if passed by. Though, there are some jewelers who are not afraid to mix colors in quite expensive jewels. So, Cartier experienced the period of various stone matching tutti-frutti inspired by the Indian jewelry art in the early 20th century. The collections offered necklaces, tiaras, rings and bracelets made from emeralds, motley diamonds, amethysts, aquamarines and many other color stones of fancy color.
Mikimoto, the master of pearls, launched the collection Elements of Life where he mixes the noble pearl with colored sapphires and the golden beads balance with the orange ones, white go well with blue and the black perfectly tones with pink gems.
Boucheron, Bulgari and De Grisogono are also captivated with the color play of gems.
Nevertheless, when choosing the jewelry from semi-precious stones the vital factor is when you opt for stones which decorate and go with your image but not overwhelm with vivid colors and juicy shades.

Cufflinks: a work of art to wear
The luxury Lifestyle blog (the home of luxury Lifestyle) presents Cufflinks: a work of art to wear.
The brio of a young Italian designer who tries to reinterpret the use of cufflinks and the attempt becomes a guaranteed success.
Once cufflinks were useful accessories for men act to close very starched cuffs, like it was used among the wealthy gentlemen of the nineteenth century.
Today they are details of class used to complete the structure of an elegant suit or a tuxedo at a formal ceremony.
Fashion has often overlooked cufflinks, relegating them to symbols of social status, pieces of precious metal with engraved initials of noble families, monotonous, classic and always a little out of fashion.
Valentina Stammelluti tried to dust them again, adding a touch of uniqueness, taking care of the details by hand and using precious stones.
Most cufflinks are boring and all have so much "sameness” says Valentina that’s why she allowed men (as women always did, do and will) to wear a little work of art creating a collection of limited edition cufflinks that have already become a symbol of luxury in the world of the modern gentleman.
All the cufflinks are in 18kt gold and precious stones. Secret Garden start from the delicacy and whiteness of the pearl adding a splash of colour in the decoration made by hand. Cocoa and Ylang Ylang are hand carved mother of pearls brown and white. Sunset and Capri are mother of pearl with an exploit of colours red and blue to highlight in a simple but precious way a more informal suit. Le Dandy and Le Crystal Dandy are pearls in a dandy style. Sardinia and Chateau d’Yquem are transparent gems, a real set of precious stones. Savannah, Caramel, Oci Ciornie, Coral Reef and Brunet are suitable for all budgets, great gift for a friend to get them passionate about jewellery for men. Last but not least Habibi, no comment, undoubtly the most precious of all, they are available only on request, a piece for Sultan of Brunei.
Even the packaging reflects the elegance and sophistication of Miss Stammelluti’s work: a black velvet jewel box, finished in gold and sealed with red wax.
Valentina Stammelluti cufflinks can only be purchased online.
